For a while now, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have been reported to be in deep waters when it comes to their bank balance. Since leaving the royal family essentially left the Sussexes without an official job, the two have grappled with the taxing task of finding new sources of income. So, when rumors of a contract with Dior surfaced after their headline-making fallout with Spotify, many wondered if this would be the silver lining the two so needed. 

Months after the rumors were debunked, the hope of collaboration has now been crushed entirely, courtesy of something brought forth by Netflix’s show, The Crown. 

How did The Crown cause Meghan Markle to lose the deal with Dior?

It is not something but someone who snatched the possible prospects of Markle landing the Dior deal. That person is none other than the actress who will portray Kate Middleton in the second part of The Crown’s season six, Meg Allamy. Earlier this month, it was reported by Daily Mail that according to a Netflix insider, Bellamy was being treated like “an A-list princess”, much like the one she portrays.

Apparently, the 21-year-old was already a brand favorite when it came to fashion. Still, one can imagine how this loss came as a double-blow for the Suits star who is known to be feuding with her sister-in-law who Bellamy plays. While some have blamed the Sussexes’ own choices for this, many believe that Markle would have made a better ambassador for the French fashion mogul. 

Due to the special relationship she shares with the luxury brand, there is no doubt that Markle would have been a better face of it.

The love affair between the Duchess of Sussex and Dior

Those who are familiar with Meghan Markle’s life know her affinity for Dior’s couture and skincare products. One of her most applauded looks came forth through the beige Dior gown she donned during a visit to Morocco a year after her marriage to Prince Harry. Even on her wedding day, the 42-year-old famously used the brand’s make-up to achieve her radiant bridal glow.

Besides these, the mother of two also stepped out in a Dior fit for Prince Archie’s christening! These are but a few examples of when she served royal vibes in the fashion house’s opulent apparel. Not only her but Prince Harry is a known fan of the brand. Now, having been looked over for the role of ambassador for the brand, the Suits star may just re-assess her wardrobe.
