Spider-Man: Brand New Day has swung into 2026 as one of the year's biggest cinematic events. The story leaps four years beyond No Way Home, leaving Peter Parker completely alone and back to battling crime at street level. Tom Holland begins an entirely new trilogy, while Jon Bernthal's Frank Castle and villains like Tombstone and Scorpion promise bruising, grounded conflicts instead of multiversal spectacle.
A picture carrying this much excitement deserves a screen with equally grand ambitions. It is hardly surprising that audiences are wondering whether IMAX is part of Spider-Man's latest adventure.

No, Spider-Man: Brand New Day will not swing into United States IMAX theaters when it arrives on July 31. That answer has disappointed plenty of fans, especially for a Spider-Man adventure packed with large-scale action. The surprising decision, however, has very little to do with Marvel Studios or Sony Pictures.
The real obstacle is Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey. Because Nolan filmed the historical epic entirely with IMAX 70mm cameras, IMAX awarded the production an exclusive four-week domestic engagement. That agreement keeps virtually every standard United States IMAX auditorium reserved until the middle of August, leaving Peter Parker without room to spin a web.
That does not mean premium moviegoing is off the table. Spider-Man: Brand New Day is arriving across an impressive lineup of Premium Large Formats, with ScreenX taking centres stage. The production even became the first feature to capture key action scenes using dedicated ScreenX cameras, creating sequences designed specifically for the immersive 270-degree presentation.
Moviegoers can also choose Dolby Cinema, 4DX, MX4D, and other premium auditoriums, where the film's taller 1.90:1 presentation will still shine beautifully. While United States audiences miss the IMAX experience, international markets are still expected to receive select IMAX screenings, giving some fans the best of both worlds.
As fans lock in the ticket details for Spider-Man: Brand New Day, excitement and expectations are swinging to dizzying new heights.
