Sydney Bernice Sweeney, born September 12, 1997, is an American actress and producer who first gained recognition through the 2018 television series Everything Sucks, and has starred in The Handmaid's Tale and Sharp Objects as well. Her feature film debut was in 2019's Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.

However, only after the prestige hits Euphoria (2019-present) and the limited series The White Lotus (2019) did she garner two Emmy award nominations in 2022. Following her apparent success, she ventured into production, founding her company, Fifty-Fifty Films.

Early life and achievements

Sydney Sweeney grew up in a rural lakeside house that her family has called home for five generations. Notably, her house was located in the Panhandle region of northwest Idaho, which is close to the Washington border. She further did her schooling at Saint George's School in Spokane where she reportedly took part in a plethora of sports.

The Euphoria star is also a trained martial arts fighter and completed grappling when she was in school. It perhaps explains her MTV TV & Movie award for the best fight (in Euphoria).

Before moving to Los Angeles, she started auditioning for and appearing in TV commercials at the age of 14. At that time, her family temporarily resided in Seattle and Portland, Oregon. Sweeney then gave a proper 5-year-plan to her father to pursue a career in acting. It was then, that the family moved to the hub of the filmmaking industry. There they lived in a 1BHK apartment, per her interview with The Hollywood Reporter until she brought a luxurious home recently.

One of her very first full-length films was a horror flick, Along Came the Devil, which was produced in 2019.
