confessed she wanted the part by hook or by crook. The journey then proceeded
undaunted. Although there were hundreds of budding stars and actresses, Julia,
piqued with her interest, bagged the role.

She recalled the time of the day of the audition, saying that the first audition
was in a small room in New York. Julia continued by saying that the casting only
asked her to do one scene and then thanked her.

Soon after the audition was over, Julia got a callback, and the rest was
history. Ruth was hers the very next day. Julia is a firm believer that whatever
happens, happens because of a reason. But with Ruth, it was different. Letting
go of Ruth wouldn’t have been easy on her part. She said, “I remember thinking,
if I didn’t get this, I would be upset.”
