Stansfield Village Hall Screens ‘Sex Education’ and ‘The Witcher’ Stars’ ‘Kindling’ post-shoot!
Over the years, Netflix has produced many memorable shows that have stayed with us. Through shows, such as Sex Education and The Witcher, the streamer has emerged as the brightest in its realm. Many actors from these award-winning series’ have seeped into mainstream media through larger-than-life movies. Emma Mackey, Ncuti Gatwa, and Freya Allan will be kindling with more familiar faces from their respective shows on the big screen.
The shift to the big screen seems to be a trope especially popular among the Sex Education and The Witcher actors. The only twist is that the big screen is actually being helmed by the Stansfield Village, which served as the location for the movie Kindling.

Kindling a 2023 drama, directed by Connor O’Hara, features the Sex Education actor George Somner, who plays the character of Sid. Sid is a 29-year-old boy who is battling terminal cancer and spends his last summer with his close friends, including Wilson Mbomio aka Dara from The Witcher. Owing to the film’s success, the Stansfield Village Hall received special permission from Signature Entertainment to screen the movie for £5, as per East Anglian Daily Times.
The cancer tale will be screened in the hall on 25th August that the actors from Kindling used as their base. Stansfield is a very beautiful and unspoiled village which is the reason why the makers featured it in the film, as per Rex Barnes, Chair of Stansfield Parish Council.
This film is not just a melancholic cancer tale but is also very personal to the debutant director Connor O’Hara.
Why should you watch the Sex Education and The Witcher starrer?
Kindling is more than an ordinary cancer tale. Unlike other films that glamorize cancer, Kindling actually portrays the pain and deterioration of the victim. The story depicts the predicament faced by the sufferer, all the while validating the emotions of people around him. Talented directed, Connor O’Hara digs into his personal experience with a friend battling cancer to add to the movie’s brilliance.

The last summer of Sid with his friends juxtaposes emotions of both melancholy and joy in the same frame. The film also successfully breaks the stereotype surrounding male emotional quotient and beautifully portrays their vulnerabilities. Kindling will leave you with laughs and tears, reminding you to value those you hold dear.
