The Spanish gem that shall forever remain etched in our minds, Money Heist, will soon have a French contender. Finally, filling the Money Heist-shaped hole in our hearts, Netflix has released a teaser for its upcoming project titled Voleuses or Wingwomen in English. Having set the bar high with the oh-so-exhilarating Money Heist, Netflix’s new movie will attempt to achieve what its Spanish counterpart most certainly did.

The teaser opens with a scene of three women sitting at a table, interviewing each other. As the ladies begin to divulge their specialties, it gets clear that their expertise pertains to a very specific craft. Glimpses of some impressive action sequences are interjected with comedic punches. As the trio tries to get their hands on their targeted painting, the clip weaves through themes of friendship and overall badassery.

Based on the novel La Grande Odalisque by Florent Ruppert, Voleuses is directed by Mélanie Laurent. In its all-female gang of robbers, leading the pack is Carole. A soon-to-be mother and professional thief played by Laurent herself, Carole is the mastermind of the heist. The cast of the show includes Isabelle Adjani as Carole’s boss and Adèle Exarchopoulos, who plays Alex, Carole’s best friend. Manon Bresch will be seen as Sam, the racecar driver seen zooming around in the trailer on her bike. Supporting actors will include Philippe Katerine and Félix Moati.

Releasing on 1st November on the streaming giant, Netflix has us on the edge of our seats in anticipation of the results of the trio’s art heist.
