This Netflix project touts itself to be a docu-drama based on the real events of Einstein’s life. And what a life he had! Besides being the sharpest mind of this century, the German physicist led a rather eventful life, having lived through not one but two world wars! After leaving Germany as a mere 16-year-old, he returned to his homeland later only to have to escape it again under the Nazi regime.
Through moments of his life captured on lens and journals documenting his life experiences, Netflix collated the source material for this film. So, audiences can expect a harrowing, yet inspiring cinematic experience from the documentary project. Irish actor Aidan McArdle will portray Einstein alongside the supporting cast, Rachel Barry of Glee and The King’s Speech actor, Andrew Havill. It will arrive on the OTT on February 19th.
One of the aspects that make this flick so enticing is its subject’s connection to J. Robert Oppenheimer.

During World War 2, Einstein found himself in the USA where he would encounter intellectual equals like the father of the atomic bomb. In the movie based on the American scientist’s work, Oppenheimer, Einstein was included in the narrative for this reason. The enormous hype Oppenheimer carried and the major sweep it just pulled at Oscar nominations is a signal for production houses that viewers’ love for historical dramas is endless.

A pivotal scene from the Christopher Nolan-directed flick showed J. Robert Oppenheimer accused of treason, despite his contributions. When he encountered Einstein, the German scientist suggested that his fellow physicist abandon his government like he once had to. However, Oppenheimer rejected this proposal. Yet, Einstein’s advice spoke volumes of his complicated life, which cinephiles will be treated to in Einstein and the Bomb.
