Some question if the actor who plays the Bard in The Witcher since its first season, Joey Batey contributed to the music heard in the series.

Does Joey Batey Actually Sing in ‘The Witcher’? Who Sang The iconic ‘Toss A Coin to Your Witcher’ in Season 1?

Through the stellar acting from Henry Cavill
[https://netflixjunkie.com/tag/henry-cavill/], Freya Allan, Joey Batey, and Anya
Chalotra, Netflix’s The Witcher [https://netflixjunkie.com/tag/the-witcher/]
rose to instant success when it first launched in 2019. Besides the impressive
portrayal of the central characters from the main cast, the cinematography of
the series was also lauded to be a major factor in this. Especially the music
composed by Sonya Belousova and Giona Ostinelli became an integral part of the
show’s allure.

Some fans wonder if Joey Batey, being a musician, was involved in the musical
aspect of the fantasy series too.

DID JOEY BATEY CONTRIBUTE TO THE MUSIC IN THE WITCHER?

The cast of the hit series has undergone various changes from Season 1
[https://www.netflixjunkie.com/netflix-news-all-the-changes-made-to-the-cast-of-the-witcher-since-season-1-up-until-season-4/]
till now, like Henry Cavill’s replacement with Liam Hemsworth. Still, Joey Batey
who plays Jaskier is among those whose character still enjoys the same face as
it moves into Season 4. Despite his popularity, not many viewers were aware that
he was the one who provided the vocals for ‘Toss a Coin to Your Witcher’, the
hugely popular soundtrack heard in Season 1.

One of the most iconic aspects of the first season of the show was this theme
track that accompanied it. It became the prime example in showcasing the music’s
impact on the popularity of a show as it quickly became a fan favorite. After
all, its vocalist Batey is the lead singer for an indie folk group: The Amazing
Devil as well. Additionally, he was also his band’s main songwriter and
composer!

No wonder the Knightfall actor has assisted in not one but multiple tracks heard
in The Witcher.

THESE SONGS WERE ALSO SUNG BY BATEY

Besides ‘Toss a Coin to Your Witcher’, so far Batey has lent vocals to various
other tracks from the show. Also produced alongside Sonya Belousova and Giona
Ostinelli, he sang the vocals of ‘The Fishmonger’s Daughter’ and ‘Her Sweet
Kiss’. Meanwhile, the other three were composed by Joseph Trapanese. These
include ‘Burn Butcher Burn’, ‘The Golden One’ as well as ‘Whoreson Prison
Blues’.

Each of these tracks were monumental in helping viewers immerse themselves in
the intricate and magical universe of The Witcher. Through a blend of haunting
melodies, epic orchestral scores and folk-inspired tunes, they enriched the
fantasy-filled storytelling of the show. Essentially, Batey’s contributions
became a testament to how a well-crafted score can elevate a television series
to a whole new level of engagement!
