Amidst Irreparable Differences, Here’s A Look Back At Meghan Markle Addressing The Royal Foundation Forum as The ‘Fab Four’

Although things between the Royal Family have turned ridiculously sour, there was a time when the ‘fab four’ represented the royal family hand in hand. The Waleses, accompanied by the Sussexes, had their first-ever public engagement as senior working Royals on the 28th of February, 2018. With a pregnant Kate Middleton, the then-Duke of Cambridge and the then newly-engaged couple Harry and Meghan Markle attended the Royal Foundation Forum.

As highlighted by the Prince of Wales, this event held particularly specific importance for them as a family. This was because it was Meghan Markle’s first Royal appearance alongside Harry and the rest. With the theme of ‘Making A Difference Together,’ the four addressed the crowd with much substance and volume about making the world a better place to thrive in. As a part of the ethos, Markle specially delivered a remarkable speech elaborating on the importance of gender equality.

As a first step in getting accustomed to royal responsibilities and duties, Markle impressed the audience as well as made the existing Royals proud through her approach. She reportedly talked about how people often say, “you’re helping women find their voices”. However, the former American actress fundamentally disagrees with that. In fact, Markle was pretty optimistic about how “women don’t need to find a voice, they have a voice“.
"You'll often hear people say, 'well, you're helping women find their voices' and I fundamentally disagree with that because women don't need to find a voice, they have a voice, they need to feel empowered to use it and people need to be encouraged to listen! ✊" Meghan Markle pic.twitter.com/xtBJGribjC

Continuing further she explained how women just need to feel empowered to use it while people need to be encouraged to listen. Harry’s then finance next expressed her support to the #Metoo and #Time’s Up Campaigns touching sensitive matters like sexual harassment. With the massive number of then-ongoing campaigns, the Duchess encouraged how that was exactly the right time to “shine a light on women empowerment”.
Speaking about their then-upcoming wedding, both Meghan Markle and Prince Harry expressed their excitement for getting onto their Royal duties as a couple as soon as possible. Following the Sussexes, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge also asserted the event conveying how working together is greater than the sum of working in parts. Together, the four concluded on a rather optimistic note, promising to work for the welfare of their subjects together.

However, the Wales and Sussexes being together have now become a distant dream. With the ongoing controversies surrounding the Royal bubble, chances of a reconciliation have been reduced from a few to none.
