The Iconic Penelope and Colin Scene in ‘Bridgerton’ Season 3 Earns Pitbull’s Special Praises

Bridgerton may reside in the corridors of the past, but it adeptly tailors its aesthetics, politics, and, most importantly, its music to today's audiences. In the first two seasons, fans got a peek into the fabricated romance blossoming into true affection and the age-old tale of foes finding love. But this season, it introduced the timeless friends-to-lovers trope which never fails to strike a chord with the viewers. And all this was set against the backdrop of soulful classical renditions of contemporary music that made each frame and shot, as spectacular as one would hope from a historical romance.

Not only fans, even the well-known rapper Pitbull has lauded it, who has had a contribution to the show’s most magical moments as well.

By the time Bridgerton season 3 wrapped its first part, Penelope Featherington, played by Nicola Coughlan, effectively fielded her second marriage proposal in a single evening. But that came after a steamy carriage romance with Colin Bridgerton, played by Luke Newton. And while curating the most iconic scene from the show, thus far, Pitbull’s song, 'Give Me Everything,' played over. In a heartfelt appreciation of the same, the rapper posted the clip on Instagram, saying, "This again shows the world how music is the international language that transcends over boundaries”.

Pitbull also went on to thank the Bridgerton makers for making his song a part of such a memorable and iconic scene. “Thank you @bridgertonnetflix and @netflix for the opportunity, Dale!,” said the 'Fireball' singer. His post also got a response from Bridgerton’s official Instagram account with a comment that said, “Music speaks when words cannot”. While the music of the first part of Bridgerton 3 was a hit among fans, the season was not left without its share of criticism, especially for one specific aspect.

This backlash, however, was more for the streaming giant, Netflix, than for the Regency-era drama.

Bridgerton fans disappointed with Netflix’s approach to unveil the show

The first buzz killer that Bridgerton fans endured with the new installment was that it was going to be released in two parts. While this may be a first for Bridgerton, fans have already experienced a similar situation with Stranger Things season 4, where the final two episodes were unexpectedly delayed by a month until July. Back then, it was justified by production requirements for the high-budget episodes. However, now it just looks like another strategy by Netflix.

A possible reason for this could be that Netflix aims to deter users from subscribing, binge-watching a single show over a weekend, and then canceling their subscription. By spacing out releases over a month, they could potentially extend the subscription period to two months instead of just one. However, this approach has not gone down well with fans, who have flooded social media platforms with comments urging Netflix to stop this practice. Sadly, fans will still have to wait for nearly another month to find out what other songs would fit into the love story of Penelope and Colin next.
