'Bridgerton' Season 3: 5 Song Covers We Want to Hear in Classic 'Bridgerton' VSQ String Arrangement

Music serves as the soul of any good production. The success of award-winning movies such as Oppenheimer and La La Land and even the hype for Joker: Folie à Deux just for possibly coming out as a musical has only ever added weight to the truth. On its path, Netflix has attuned its musical side with its Regency-era drama, Bridgerton, featuring classical covers of contemporary songs by the famed Vitamin String Quartet (VSQ), blending modern culture into the early 19th century in an unparalleled way.

At a time when the streamer has already lined up the third season of the show to follow, here are five covers that deserve a feature in the show.

A major plot point for Netflix’s Bridgerton remains its focus on love and romance. To string this central theme harmoniously across to the audience, the show relies on the Vitamin String Quartet (VSQ) group’s acclaim for bringing forward classical renditions of modern pop songs. However, considering the plot for the third incoming season, string versions of Taylor Swift’s ‘Cardigan’, Ed Sheeran’s ‘Perfect, ‘Yellow’ by Coldplay ‘Falling’ by Harry Styles, and Lana Del Rey’s ‘Cinnamon Girl’ should make the cut.

In the past two seasons, the group has won over fans with their quartets of Ariana Grande’s ‘Thank U, Next, Billie Eilish’s ‘Bad Guy’, Maroon 5’s ‘Girls Like You’, Shawn Mendes’, and Taylor Swift’s ‘Wildest Dreams’. Primarily revolving around the developments in the romance between Nicola Coughlan’s Penelope Featherington and Luke Newton’s Colin Bridgerton, the strings hummed by these beats could truly radiate an ethereal storytelling experience while giving fans a new addition to their playlist.

Netflix released the official clip from season three of Bridgerton this year, long after a first look surfaced on the Internet. Additionally, it reinforced the same point of the glow-up of Colin Bridgerton as well as a confused Penelope Featherington, trying to figure out where exactly she fit in. “You are not a spinster,” the former reinforced to the latter, previewing the dynamics of a season that would center on their romance.

The show also looks set to continue with its exploration of the bonds between the various characters while throwing palpable tension all across. Growing fatigue at Featherington’s side looks imminent, to burst and open up an emotional journey. Regardless, all guesses will stand the test when season three of Bridgerton arrives in two parts, with the first on May 16th and Part 2 on June 13, 2024.
