The animated feature marks Jordan’s first release following his Best Actor win earlier this year for Sinners, where his double role performance has already started to position him at the peak of his career. Naturally, expectations around his next move were high, with many anticipating yet another large-scale live-action project.

Michael B. Jordan’s Swapped has quickly turned into a streaming success story. What's On Netflix has revealed that it debuted at number 2 on the weekly global top 10 charts for the streamer, with 15.5 million views based on 26.4 million hours watched. The film debuted on Netflix on May 1, 2026, and within days climbed to No. 1 in the United States, while also entering the Top 10 in over 70 countries and leading charts in at least 40 regions, according to Flix Patrol. 

Directed by Nathan Greno, Swapped follows Ollie, a small woodland creature, and Ivy, a majestic bird, who unexpectedly switch bodies after encountering a mysterious object. Forced to work together, the two face a series of challenges in a fictional forest while trying to reverse the transformation—an adventure roller coaster that blends both humor and emotional stakes.

The film’s early reception has also been strong, currently holding an 87% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes and a 7.3 rating on IMDb, showing a positive response from viewers. It also marks Netflix’s second-best three-day debut for an animated film in recent times, placing it close to titles like The Sea Beast.

With yet another success adding to his momentum, Michael B. Jordan’s upcoming slate is only getting more ambitious.

What’s next for Michael B. Jordan after his Netflix success?

Michael B. Jordan is not slowing down following his Oscar win and this recent Netflix success. Among his upcoming projects is The Thomas Crown Affair, where he is set to not only lead the project but also direct the film, highlighting another major step in expanding his presence behind the camera.

He is also involved in The Greatest, an Amazon series centered on Muhammad Ali, and Fourth Wing, a fantasy adaptation he is producing through his company, Outlier Society. Both projects signal a move toward large-scale storytelling across platforms.

Michael B. Jordan is also attached to I Am Legend 2, alongside Will Smith, as well as Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six, where he reprises his role as John Clark. He is also set to star along with Austin Butler in Miami Vice ‘85, scheduled for a theatrical release in August 2028.

Jordan is also being linked to another major project currently generating industry buzz - Battlefield, a film adaptation of the popular video game franchise. The project is expected to involve filmmaker Christopher McQuarrie, known for his work on the Mission: Impossible series, setting up what could become one of the most competitive acquisitions in the market.
