Meet the Cast of 'The Boroughs': Every Actor Joining Netflix’s New Supernatural Mystery

After years of building Hawkins into one of television’s most iconic supernatural worlds, the Duffer Brothers are backing another strange mystery — but this time, the biggest surprise may not just be the monsters.
Netflix’s upcoming supernatural drama The Boroughs has quietly assembled one of the streamer’s most unexpectedly stacked ensembles, blending Oscar winners, cult horror favorites, sitcom veterans, and prestige television stars into one eerie desert-set mystery. Rather than leaning on younger breakout stars, the series appears to be taking a very different approach with a cast filled almost entirely by familiar veteran performers.
That decision alone already makes The Boroughs feel noticeably different from many recent Netflix genre projects. And judging by the names involved, the streaming giant may be betting heavily on experience to carry its next supernatural obsession.

Bill Pullman as Jack: Pullman joins the mystery following memorable roles in Independence Day and The Sinner.
Denis O'Hare as Wally: Best recognized for American Horror Story and This Is Us, O’Hare adds strong genre experience to the cast.
Clarke Peters as Art: Peters, known for The Wire and Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri, rounds out the veteran-heavy central lineup.
Jena Malone as Claire: Malone joins the series after notable performances in The Hunger Games and Love Lies Bleeding.
The extended cast also includes Carlos Miranda as Paz, Seth Numrich as Blaine, Alice Kremelberg as Anneliese, Rafael Casal as Neil, horror icon Dee Wallace as Grace, Jane Kaczmarek as Lilly, Ed Begley Jr. as Edward, and Eric Edelstein as Hank — making The Boroughs one of Netflix’s most ensemble-driven mysteries in recent memory.
But the casting choices may also reveal something much bigger about what kind of story The Boroughs is actually trying to tell.
Why The Boroughs cast already feels different from Netflix’s usual formula?
One of the most striking things about The Boroughs is how intentionally different its casting feels from modern supernatural dramas. Instead of teenagers or twenty-something heroes, the show revolves around older protagonists living inside a retirement community — a major creative swing for Netflix’s genre lineup.
The Duffer Brothers themselves hinted at that difference while describing the show’s heroes as a “lovable bunch of misfits,” similar in spirit to Stranger Things during the show's announcement— only with “a few more years on them.” That shift may ultimately become one of the series’ biggest strengths, giving the mystery an emotional perspective rarely explored in horror storytelling.
