Guess who is back? Back Again. No, we are not singing an Eminem song. We are talking about a different Grammy-winning rapper who has just re-returned to Twitter, Kanye West. Although some may say that the next line in Eminem’s song, ‘Shady’s back’ also applies here considering the shady nature of the rapper’s tweet that got him removed in the first place. And though the rapper’s account was removed an hour after being reinstated, it is now back courtesy of the platform’s owner, Elon Musk.
In a show of democracy, the SpaceX founder conducted the infamous poll in November 2022 asking users if they should reinstate suspended accounts. This led to the return of West, Donald Trump among thousands of others. The 52-year-old who prides himself on being a free-speech enthusiast had to rue his decision later. The ‘Gold Digger’ singer continued his barrage of anti-Semitic comments, leading to his removal again the next month. And now seven months later, we are back to where we started as Ye makes yet another comeback to Twitter.

This decision from Twitter’s owner comes amidst a recent stage of extensive rebranding that the platform is receiving. As it transitions from Twitter to X, fans wonder what his vision of turning Twitter into an ‘everything app’ will entail. Besides, allowing his long-term friends back on the platform, of course.
Some are not surprised to see Ye back on the app. After all, just a couple of weeks prior, the Tesla CEO did share an old album cover of Ye’s to his own account. Regardless of whether he favors the rapper or not, West is here to stay, at least for now.
Kanye West’s return has Twitter users in turmoil
Loyal fans of Ye celebrate every achievement of the rapper, including his on-and-off relationship with Twitter. But with each passing ban, his devoted loyalists are getting scarce. There is a limit to how many times fans will defend their beloved artist, and the comments show that they may be nearing that limit. Voicing their concern, comments range from “I’m worried” to “Not a good news for me, sorry.”

Referring to how Musk allowed his return, a user said, “He is a forgiving man.” While another voiced his frustration at the whole saga, simply saying, “Can Elon un-algorithm me?”
