With a filmography stretching past a hundred titles, Robert De Niro has spent decades defining what versatility and longevity look like in Hollywood. Two Oscars, a Golden Globe, and a shelf of nominations testify to that. But while the world has witnessed the wonders, he can pull on a screen with a script, De Niro himself has yet to witness the same. However, he has an exact blueprint of how he is going to do it.

Like a true cinephile, Robert De Niro's very own watchlist is anytime going to be bustling with his own titles.

Somewhere between his hundred-plus film credits, Robert De Niro has apparently decided that he is going to be his own film critic. The actor sat down with Amy Poehler on Good Hang and laid out his plan for revisiting his own filmography. He has not settled on an order of operations: chronological from the start, or working backward from whatever he shot most recently. Either way, the goal is simple: spend some time with the work itself. Poehler had the perfect way to put it.

"That would be like your own festival," she told him.

Given that the actor is decorated with two Academy Awards, one Golden Globe, and several BAFTA and Emmy nominations, the festival, as Amy Poehler put it on Good Hang, will be an immersive ride is a sure bet.

Apart from being entranced by his work, given the tales of how much of a generous laugher he is, Robert De Niro may just be in for a fun-packed ride.

The tales of Robert De Niro's generous laughter

The phrase "their laugh lights up the room" is one that has been associated with several people in the entertainment industry. And while it may even be true for Robert De Niro, by recent admission, his laughter is more accurately associated with a few premature SNL scripts going on air. During his appearance on Good Hang with Amy Poehler, Seth Meyers revealed an instance from early SNL days where Robert De Niro's laughter gave the writers a boost of confidence for unfinished scripts.

"He's an incredibly generous laugher," Meyers said about De Niro.

By Meyers' admission, the actor would laugh at almost every next joke on the table read, making the writers almost believe that their unfinished work was good enough to air. And if De Niro really is as generous a laugher as Meyers says, his own movie marathon might just be the easiest crowd he has ever played to.
