You don't criticize America when you're living here as our guest, thrashed Don McLean in an interview with Daily Mail reacting to a remark made by the Prince in his memoir. The singer further added how Elvis Presley was not a born star who would have all the sophistications he must have had in Buckingham. “He came from nowhere and his recordings are among the greatest ever made,” said the star in defense of Presley's abode.

Commenting on it further, he added how Prince Harry does not get the thing about being an American. These comments have taken off from where he last criticized the Prince. Back in 2023, a while after Prince Harry's Spare release, the singer took to his X handle to write how Prince Harry should shut his mouth about Graceland. He said Presley did it from scratch and was a 'showhorse', taunting the estranged Prince.

Prince Harry wrote about Elvis Presley's Graceland home in his memoir, Spare, calling it a "dark badger den" and a claustrophobic spot which upset some fans. He also mentioned that he could not believe Presley lived there, calling the furniture loud and the carpets shaggy. He added that the singer’s interior designer must have been on "acid" when he made the same.

Prince Harry's comments were met with outrage from some fans, who felt he was disrespecting Presley and his legacy. However, it is worth noting that not all fans were upset, and some found the Prince’s comments humorous and relatable. Over the years, Prince Harry and his family have successfully passed for an American family, although critics stay at their beck and call.
