Will Gen V Characters Appear in 'The Boys' Season 5 Episode 7?

With only two episodes left before The Boys closes the curtain on its magnificent five-season run, one question still continues to hover over Prime Video’s superhero universe — where exactly are the Gen V characters? While the spin-off series was initially positioned as a major extension of the franchise’s bigger narrative, Season 5 has so far kept most of its younger Supes away from the spotlight.

That absence has become even more noticeable as the series moves closer toward its finale. Gen V Season 2 directly tied itself into the escalating conflict with The Boys, making many viewers expect the stories to eventually collide in a meaningful way. Now, with Episode 7 around the corner, the possibility of that crossover finally happening feels harder to ignore.

And considering the amount of groundwork already laid between both shows, the absence surrounding those characters may not be accidental anymore.

Why Episode 7 could finally bring Gen V into The Boys endgame?

The strongest indication that Gen V characters could appear in Episode 7 comes from the show itself. Earlier in Season 5, Marie Moreau was directly referenced during a conversation involving Stan Edgar and Starlight’s resistance, confirming that she still exists within the ongoing major conflict of the series and remains connected to the larger anti-Vought movement.

Eric Kripke’s previous comments about Marie Moreau’s arc also make the situation more interesting. Speaking to outlets including Variety, The Hollywood Reporter, and ComicBook, the showrunner repeatedly emphasized the fact that Marie was never meant to become an instantly overpowered savior figure despite the scale of her abilities. Instead, Kripke described her as someone still struggling to fully understand and control her powers.

Ironically, that creative decision may actually increase the chances of her appearing late in the season. A restrained appearance fits far more naturally into The Boys’ grounded chaos than suddenly introducing a fully realized “Homelander killer” in the final hour.

Online speculation around Episode 7 has naturally intensified. But beyond audience theories, the bigger reality is that with Gen V being cancelled only after its two seasons, these final episodes may realistically be the last opportunity for Prime Video to meaningfully utilizie several of these characters in the current series’ timeline.

Eric Kripke’s long-term plans make a crossover appearance hard to ignore

Even after the reported cancellation of Gen V, Eric Kripke has made it clear that Prime Video still wants to continue expanding The Boys universe. Speaking about the future of the franchise, Kripke revealed that his team has already been internally brainstorming additional stories and also hinted that future spin-offs could “absorb at least some of the Gen V gang.”

That statement matters because the franchise’s roadmap is rapidly narrowing. Once The Boys ends with Season 5, the only officially confirmed project in the pipeline is Vought Rising, a prequel centered around Soldier Boy and Stormfront decades before the events of the main series.

In other words, Episodes 7 and 8 currently stand as the franchise’s clearest remaining space to give the Gen V characters closure, setup, or even a brief role within the larger war against Vought. Leaving them entirely absent after spending multiple seasons building connective tissue between both series would feel strangely incomplete for a universe that has consistently successfully achieved crossover storytelling.
