There is no doubt that the royal family saw both Prince Harry and Prince William on equal footing in almost all cases. However, Prince Harry’s Spare claims might have something in them. Although the former Monarch, Late Queen Elizabeth held both of her grandsons dearly, the prestige and accolades always gave a first hand to the heir to the British throne. For obvious reasons, Prince William’s security and safety were always a major priority for the monarchy, as claimed by a former British army officer.

The new ITV documentary, The Real Crown which sheds the remnant light on the House of Windsor, features General Mike Jackson. The army officer recalled some of the most confidential conversations he once had with Queen Elizabeth regarding her grandsons. Back in the day, the chiefs of the British defense Systems always frequently had important sit-downs with the monarch.

In one such conversation with the Queen, she evidently opened up about both his grandsons and the way the monarchy sees each one of them. “My grandsons have taken my shilling, therefore they must do their duty,” she had affirmed to the General. However, what came up as the highlight of the conversation was Prince William’s importance over Prince Harry.  He claimed in the interview that Prince William serving in the war was deemed “too great” of a risk.

However, in Prince Harry’s case “the risk was acceptable” said the General, reiterating the Queen’s words. For the record, the future King, Prince William served in the military for over seven years. Nevertheless, he did not accomplish any riskier tours like that of Prince Harry’s Afghanistan shifts.

These claims have been revealed after Prince Harry blasted the royal family in his memoir. In his record-breaking, Spare, he stated of how the royal family always treated him as the “Plan B.” “I was the shadow, the support,” he writes in his memoir. “I was brought into the world in case something happened to Willy,” the Duke further added.

Nonetheless, the Duke has no regrets about serving in the military. In fact, he takes pride in serving his nation for an entire decade.
