Elizabeth Olsen and her husband, Robbie Arnett, have welcomed their first child together, marking a major new chapter for the WandaVision star and her longtime partner. The couple has kept much of their personal life away from the Hollywood spotlight, even as Olsen has become one of Marvel’s most recognizable stars.

Arnett, meanwhile, has built a creative career of his own, far removed from the superhero world that surrounds his wife. A musician, writer and longtime partner to Olsen, he has shared several major chapters of her life while maintaining a relatively quiet presence of his own. And now, their unusually private relationship has entered its biggest chapter yet.

Who is Robbie Arnett?

Robbie Arnett is a Los Angeles musician best known as a member of the indie band Milo Greene. The group released its self-titled debut album in 2012, followed by 'Control' in 2015 and 'Adult Contemporary' in 2018. Its music has also appeared in films and television shows, including Fun Size, The Santa Clarita Diet and Supernatural, while the band has performed on late-night programs, including The Late Show with David Letterman and The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.

Olsen has been openly supportive of Arnett’s music career since the beginning of their relationship. In 2017, shortly after they began dating, she described him as her boyfriend while praising his band as “cool.” Their relationship began after they met through a mutual friend while vacationing in Mexico, and they were publicly spotted together later that year. Arnett also joined Olsen in London while she was working on Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, with the actress describing their life together in Richmond as a “British dream.”

The latest chapter was first reported by Page Six after Olsen and Arnett were spotted walking together in Los Angeles, with Olsen carrying an infant in a baby carrier. The couple had never publicly announced the pregnancy, although Olsen was photographed with a visible baby bump in June.

Arnett’s creative work extends beyond music, too. He and Olsen co-created the Hattie Harmony children’s book series, beginning with Hattie Harmony: Worry Detective in 2022 and followed by Hattie Harmony: Opening Night in 2023. The collaboration gave the couple another creative outlet outside their respective careers.

How Elizabeth Olsen and Robbie Arnett built a life away from Hollywood

Elizabeth Olsen and Robbie Arnett have always approached their relationship differently from the usual celebrity romance. They became engaged in 2019 after roughly three years together, but even their wedding happened quietly. Olsen later confirmed that they had eloped before the COVID-19 pandemic and held another wedding at a later time.

In 2021, Olsen even casually referred to Arnett as her husband during a Variety “Actors on Actors” conversation with Kaley Cuoco, long before she publicly explained their marriage. The moment came while she was discussing WandaVision and noticed that Arnett had decorated the background of her interview with a Little Miss Magic book.

Their relationship has also been shaped by the way they support each other creatively. Olsen has said that one of her favorite things to do with Arnett is talk about stories and their respective work, while their Hattie Harmony books allowed them to turn some of their shared experiences into something they could create together.

Perhaps the clearest picture of their relationship came when Olsen recalled Arnett’s 2019 proposal. He had apparently become unusually concerned about having the perfect romantic setup, worrying about a missing cheeseboard and struggling to get a fire started before finally proposing.

The proposal itself did not go entirely according to plan. Arnett attempted to kneel on a wooden dock, only to hurt his knee and stand back up. Yet Olsen remembered the moment fondly because it was unmistakably him.

That story fits the relationship Olsen has described over the years: imperfect, private and deeply comfortable. In 2025, she said she did not even know whether she wanted marriage or children before meeting Arnett, but realized within six months that she wanted him to be part of her home and future.

Now, that future has arrived in the form of their first child, giving Olsen and Arnett another chapter to build together — this time as parents.
