The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are the epitome of long-standing evergreen love and warmth, often lacking in today’s couples. With the external forces trying their best to tear apart the couple, the military Prince, and the Hollywood Princess stick to their eternal love. Nonetheless, there is no relationship that has not tasted the bitter quarrels along with the honey drops of love. The self-exiled couple is also not spared of the same. 

Along with the endless stories of love and affection, Prince Harry also narrated their petty fights and how they pushed them to become better versions of themselves. Writing in Spare, Prince Harry recalled how he once snapped at his wife over something furious. 

Prince Harry snapped at the Duchess, harshly 

“I snapped at her, spoke to her harshly—cruelly,” wrote the Prince stating how, as words left his mouth, he knew he had crossed a line. He narrated how the entire house went silent. “Everything in the room comes to a stop. The gravy stopped bubbling, the molecules of air stopped orbiting,” he wrote. Then Meghan Markle left the room and vanished into thin air for the whole 15 minutes. 

As she sat in the bedroom, Prince Harry noticed she was calm but quiet. Looking away after a shocking question from Markle, he became certain of what his wife envisioned of their life. “She wasn’t going to tolerate that kind of partner,” wrote the Duke. “Or co-parent. That kind of life. She wasn’t going to raise children in an atmosphere of anger or disrespect,” poured out the Duke further. By then, with the brief conversation, Meghan Markle had laid it out super clear.

As Prince Harry battled the thoughts of the treacherous fights that happened in his family, he heard Markle. In a while, maintaining the low decibel, Markle said she would never stand for being spoken like that. Asking the Duke moments after his outrage, Markle asked, “Where did you ever hear a man speak like that to a woman?” further guessing if the Prince ever overheard his elders speaking like that. 

And it would not be a lie to write that Prince Harry actually had a childhood like that. In various other excerpts from his memoir, the Duke reflected on the thunderous fights his parents used to have. Before splitting, Princess Diana and King Charles often had fierce back-and-forths leaving the kids distressed.
