STŌK RACECOURSE TO HOST AN INTERNATIONAL GAME AFTER FOUR-YEAR HIATUS

As part of their bid to acquire the club in 2020, Reynolds and McElhenney made
five promises, one of which they just achieved. As reported by the Mirror

STōK Racecourse will officially be the venue for Wales’ autumn friendly. In
their promise, the duo had pledged to bring international football back to the
historic Racecourse Ground. Marking their first match at the stadium since 2019,
Wales will play against Gibraltar on 11 October.

Holding the distinction of being the oldest international football venue in the
world, Wrexham’s stadium held its first Wales game back in 1877.  Delighted with
this news, the president of the Football Association of Wales, Steve Williams
says “I’m proud to see Cymru returning to the oldest international football
stadium in the world.”

Enhancing the capacity of the stadium to 15,000, work on the construction of an
impressive new stand is well underway. The Kop end of the stadium, which has
been in derelict condition, is now taking shape, complete with top-notch
facilities. After the club’s new partnership with SToK, the club is looking
forward to many more partnerships in due time. Recently, the stadium even saw a
Kings of Leon concert when the band played at the venue while on its tour.
