Rick and Morty is all set to return for Season 9, and it will once again air on its usual TV home. As for streaming, the show will also arrive on the platforms owned by its parent company, Warner Bros. Discovery. Interestingly, unlike previous seasons, Season 9 will be available to stream much sooner this year.

While Rick and Morty had kicked off its chaotic new run on TV, here is where fans can watch the show online.

Rick and Morty will be available to stream weekly on HBO Max and Hulu from June 15, following its TV premiere on Adult Swim on May 24, 2026. The season finale is scheduled to air on July 26. Previously, fans had to wait nearly three months after its premiere for the series to arrive on streaming platforms. But that gap has now been reduced to just a few weeks.

The sci-fi animated series last premiered in May 2025 and concluded its run in July before finally arriving on streaming platforms in September 2025. That year, showrunners Scott Marder and Dan Harmon explained in an interview with TheWrap that the long streaming delay often left casual viewers unaware of when new episodes were actually released online. Because of this confusion, they hinted that the team wanted to shorten the waiting period this year.

While the crew has worked to improve the streaming experience for the animated series and has been successful, too, another project to bring Rick and Morty to the big screen is also reportedly in development.

Rick and Morty could appear on the big screen

Ever since its massively successful debut, Rick and Morty co-creator Dan Harmon has hinted at expanding the franchise with a feature-length installment. But earlier plans for the movie were put on hold during the dual SAG-AFTRA and Writers Guild of America strikes. However, it now appears that an animated Rick and Morty movie could finally become a reality in the future.

The project, which is in development at Warner Bros., is reportedly looking to get Jacob Hair onboard. Hair has served as a supervising director on the series since 2019 and has directed several episodes of the show, making him a strong choice to helm a potential movie adaptation. That said, the project is still in the early stages of production, though the possibility now feels far more promising than it did in previous years.
