Prince Harry, the Duke of Sussex, and Prince William the Prince of Wales, have called it quits for years now. And hardly do they stand a chance to amend things between each other. It is no doubt that the sons of King Charles once shared a beautiful relationship. Especially after the death of their mother, both grew up to be staunch supporters of each other. But, little did we know that the brother would not go long. Nonetheless, the brother’s rivalry was nothing new looking back at similar story of King George VI and King Edward VIII.

Be it the dispute between William, the conqueror’s sons, or a fallout between Queen Mary and her younger sister, royal rivalries date back centuries. And Prince Harry and William must be giving the royal spectators a clear Déjà vu according to a recent publication by Daily Mail. Earlier, having been compared to another controversial royal figure, Prince Harry finds himself going back to Edward VIII more often than not. The late Queen’s somewhat estranged uncle could never run lines with her King father, George VI. 

Stemmed from similar teenage tensions, the differences between King George VI and Edward VIII morphed into a helpless feud. Evidently, so, this was somewhat the case with the sons of King Charles. In fact, long before Prince Harry took the unwavering step of renouncing royalty for Meghan Markle, Edward VIII was already laying the foundation in 1936 for the same by abdicating the throne to marry an American divorcee Wallis Simpson.

Thus, royal Princes falling head over heels for women across the pond is no new saga. Although Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s story makes the loudest noise, the royal spectators were not taken aback with the same.

Apart from the brothers at war saga, the story of the Princes also runs parallel regarding their spouses. Edward VIII gave up on the British throne just to marry the love of his life. History has repeated itself in the form of Prince Harry of the present going against the world to be with his lady love, Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex.  

In fact, the wives of these Princes surprisingly pass a similar background check. Like the Duchess of Sussex, Wallis Simpson was also an American Mannequin, suffering a divorced marriage before meeting with her Prince Charming.
