Soon after Prince Harry and Meghan Markle took the helm for the first time since King Charles’ coronation, there had been a whirlwind of controversies swirling around the two. The backlashes and criticism came as no new surprise. However, the horrific incident that befell the estranged royals has shaken up the entire fandom. As bitter memories of royals associated with car accidents grasped people’s minds, the New York car chase of the Sussex couple has been persistently breaching headlines for the last couple of days.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle demanded paparazzi photos of the car chase

As we all saw it coming, Prince Harry has not been tolerant of the mishap. The Duke and the Duchess have collectively demanded the immediate handover of their snaps clicked in the near catastrophic car chase from Backgrid. For those unversed, Backgrid is a global, premier celebrity news agency. It is the same news agency that had its paparazzo take pictures of the couple down the streets of New York in the stirring car chase. However, regarding the Prince’s demand, the agency has turned the demand citing a year-old legal case.

Backgrid backfired the demand with a former case

The lawyers on behalf of the agency argued that “In America, as I’m sure you know, the property belongs to the owner of it.” They affirmed that third parties cannot just demand it is given to them “as perhaps Kings can do.Further in the dig into the estranged royals, the agency claimed that “Perhaps you should sit down with your client and advise them that his English rules of the royal prerogative to demand that the citizenry hand over their property to the Crown were rejected by this country long ago.

They have thus pressed on standing by their founding fathers and not handing any pictures of the car chase.
