Back in January 2026, Natasha Lyonne had first revealed that, staying successfully sober after nearly a decade, she had relapsed. Now, in a renewed message, she has reframed the conversation around relapse and recovery, not as a setback, but as very much a part of an ongoing process.

“Proud to report this kid is doing a whole lot better & back on her feet. Want to thank our recovery communities & the fans who stood by & were so supportive. Aiming to keep the journey somehow private, but look forward to sharing my experience, strength & hope as makes sense," the actress wrote on X on March 20, 2026.

The Russian Doll actress has long been transparent about acknowledging and talking about her past battles with substance a****, which date far back to the 2000s. The 46-year-old actress has openly shared her history of addiction problems, which started in the early 2000s and resulted in severe medical and legal issues until she went to rehabilitation in 2006. Natasha Lyonne struggled with alcohol and d***, which led to her getting arrested in 2001 for a DUI in Miami. According to Page Six, she was also evicted by her landlord, Michael Rappaport a few years later.

Meanwhile, in December 2004, Lyonne was arrested again for criminal mischief and trespassing following an altercation with her neighbor, per Us Weekly. The case took a wilder turn from having a broken mirror involved to threats of a****** a pet dog. Following the legal run-in, Lyonne ultimately began her recovery process in 2006.
