Ryan Gosling spoke about his feelings on playing Ken in 2022. Turns out he dropped major hints about the central theme of his character.

“Nobody Plays With the Kens” – When Ryan Gosling Spoke His Heart on Ken, While Promoting ‘The Gray Man’ for Netflix

A true master of his craft, Ryan Gosling recently gave one of his best
performances so far in Greta Gerwig’s Barbie. Effortlessly weaving magic into
every role he takes on, the actor is quite the enigma. With his sparkling eyes
and enchanting smile, the La La Land actor landed the part of Ken with ease. Now
winning our admiration once again with his portrayal of Ken, he must be sipping
cocktails somewhere, reveling in Barbie’s success.

The live-action comedy is set in the matriarchal world of Barbies, where one day
a unique challenge arises. As the storyline progresses, Stereotypical Ken played
by Gosling brings up an unexpected plight he’s facing. And much like Ken in the
movie, the actor that plays him revealed his insecurity in an interview from
2022.

RYAN GOSLING EMPATHIZES WITH THE KENS OF THE WORLD

At a promotional event for Netflix’s Gray Man, Ryan Gosling spoke to Variety
[https://www.youtube.com/shorts/LHta0E2orek] about his anticipation for Barbie.
Foreshadowing what was going to be a major theme in the movie, the 42-year-old
expresses his dismay at the fact that “nobody plays with the Kens” the way they
do with Barbies. Adorably relating to his character from the movie, he says that
a lot of Kens will feel seen through this movie. And giving voice to the pain of
his character, he even sang the iconic track “I’m Just Ken”

When asked about his first impressions of his wardrobe and avatar in Barbie,
Gosling says “Finally its happening..I feel seen.” Now, having seen the movie
ourselves, we can honestly say that he captured the essence of Ken’s emotional
roller-coasters spectacularly. Maybe it was because a small part of him related
to Ken, as he expressed in the interview.

Fans of the Crazy, Stupid, Love actor applauded the actor’s sincere portrayal of
Ken. And now fans of the Canadian actor have made a demand that may surprise
you.

RYAN GOSLING IS DEEMED THE STAR THAT SHONE THE BRIGHTEST

In a performance that is being called one of his best, Gosling’s acting has been
validated by audiences and critics alike. Being lauded as a highlight of the
movie

his performance has received a big thumbs up. Some have even demanded that The
Gray Man actor should finally receive the Oscar that he’s been nominated for
twice in the past.

Earlier, the actor was nominated for an Oscar in the category of Best Actor in
2007 and 2017. Now his fans are of the view that this latest performance demands
the award that he was overlooked for before. Maybe it’s time to let Ken stand in
the spotlight just like his character in the movie wishes to.
