No 'Spider-Man: Brand New Day' or 'Avengers: Doomsday' Trailer: Reports Confirm No Super Bowl Plans for Marvel

Fans have been eagerly waiting for the first trailers for Spider-Man: Brand New Day and Avengers: Doomsday, both of which seemed like strong possibilities for a debut at Super Bowl movie trailers. As is tradition, the commercial breaks during the 2026 Super Bowl, which will see the Seattle Seahawks face off against the New England Patriots, are expected to feature trailers for some of the year’s biggest films. Studios like Disney, Marvel, and Universal have long used the event to drop the trailers of their upcoming blockbusters.

While the list of movie trailers rumored to debut during the event is quite long, a few highly anticipated titles, including Avengers: Doomsday, may end up sitting this one out.

Deadline has released a list of movies expected to debut trailers during the expensive commercial breaks at the Super Bowl, and the MCU does not appear to have any trailers scheduled this year. That explains why Spider-Man: Brand New Day and Avengers: Doomsday may not get a spot during the event.

Marvel Studios’ decision to sit this big opportunity out is surprising, especially since it previously used the Super Bowl to drop trailers for films like Deadpool & Wolverine, Thunderbolts*, and others. The reason remains unclear, but it could be tied to the soaring ad costs, with a 30-second Super Bowl spot reportedly priced at around $10 million this year.

While there is uncertainty surrounding those two films, Scream 7, Minions 3, Toy Story 5, Disclosure Day, and The Mandalorian & Grogu are among the movies set to unveil trailers as per Deadline. That said, perhaps these MCU films are putting all their weight on the sheer desire of their fans to see the return of their most beloved heroes.

There is no trailer to dissect, but Ian McKellen appears to have filled the silence by accidentally dropping what sounds very much like an Avengers: Doomsday spoiler.

Did Ian McKellen reveal crucial Avengers: Doomsday spoiler?

Ian McKellen recently appeared on Jake’s Takes with Jake Hamilton and seemed to share an eyebrow-raising spoiler about Avengers: Doomsday accidentally. He spoke about returning to the role of Magneto, but one particular remark quickly caught fans’ attention.

“Though I did destroy New Jersey the other day,” McKellen said about the movie. “Oh, I perhaps shouldn’t have said that.”

Although he appeared to backtrack soon after, speculation and fan theories are already spreading online. Whether there is any truth to it remains to be seen. As for Spider-Man: Brand New Day, which has been kept especially secretive, fans may have to wait a little longer for any real details.
