Adding fuel to fire has always been a human trait. However, lately with the advancing social media, the habit of igniting a flame even where there is none has gone a bit too far. And no one would understand better than The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. The couple had to face some dark undercurrents throughout their life. Recently, they had also been bashed for merely using someone’s inspiration to build up their own.

The estranged couple released their plans for the second project with Netflix in early December 2022, called Live to Lead. And the title itself gave rise to a fresh wave of criticism of the couple. Even if the Duke and Duchess had credited Nelson Mandela as the inspiration for the docuseries, the haters tried to spread the obnoxious rumors. Word also had it that Nelson Mandela’s granddaughter was criticizing the Sussexes for using her grandfather’s quote. However, in her interviews with Fox News Digital, Ndileka Mandela confirmed that people are merely trying to start a drama.

Mandela admits that she has watched the first two episodes of the series Live to Lead but has found nothing wrong or offensive in the usage of a grandad’s quote as an opening. She is a social activist herself and agrees that her grandfather was a true social justice activist. Moreover, referring to Markle as an eminent activist as well, she affirmed there was nothing with the show. “I just think that people are making a … mountain out of a molehill, she said to Fox News. “They’re wanting to persecute Meghan and Harry for no reason, honestly,” she added.
Ndileka Mandela thus believed people should stop beating around the bush. Various people have used Nelson Mandela’s ideas and have looked up to him as an inspiration to launch their political careers. Hence, it was alright if the couple tried to do the same.

The couple’s first documentary, Harry and Meghan, faced various challenges, but it was still one of the most hit documentaries on Netflix. The first project focused on the life and hardships that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle faced after they stepped down from their position as the royal family’s senior members. This second project, however, was all about world leaders coming together to share their stories and inspire the public.
Several social justice leaders, including U.S. Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, climate activist Greta Thunberg, Gloria Steinem, and lawyer Bryan Stevenson, joined the show. It was, in fact, well-received by the public as well. Although it did not gain the fame that the bombshell did prior to it.
