Henry Cavill is an eye candy for his fans. No matter what the role is, the spotlight always lands on him. However, as much as fans want to see him on-screen, fate seems to be conspiring against it. Cavill delivered two simultaneous shockers when it was revealed that he would no longer reprise his role as Geralt in Netflix’s The Witcher. Secondly, James Gunn snubbed him out of his beloved Superman role when he announced a DC makeover and rebooted the character with David Corenswet. The snub may have hurt but Cavill can certainly hold up in his head in pride for his ethical methods of transforming into much-loved Superman.

The 40-year-old never shied away from bringing his A-game to his roles. On a fateful day in 2013, the sight of Henry Cavill greeted fans donning the red cape in Zack Snyder’s Man of Steel. Soon enough, fans raved about his daunting physique! Interestingly, the muscular figure on screen is no VFX, but rather just the actor himself. Notably, he has never used steroids or any such supplements to enhance his growth. The towering Superman is all Henry Cavill and his grit!

Incidentally, the actor’s physique came into play right as Man of Steel rolled in. In the first few minutes of the movie, a shirtless and bearded Henry Cavill lifts an oil rig while workers try to escape. Moreover, the comics often showcased the Kryptonian as a muscular figure, hovering above the rest. In the many live-action iterations of the character, none displayed such comic accuracy as the British actor.

Cavill’s charisma found its way to every outing that he ever partook in. The Witcher Season 1 director, Marc Jobst, was all praises for the actor and his dedication to the role. But fans remember still.

Henry Cavill left no stone unturned in getting into shape for Superman. The charisma and sheer weight that Cavill brought into the role affixed him as the fan-favorite Superman. Although Man of Steel was subject to criticism owing to its tone and Superman’s serious outlook, Cavill attained the peak embodiment of the character. Fans have hailed his dedication and have lapped him up as the best Superman ever.

While Henry Cavill’s Superman was subject to mixed reviews owing to his dark portrayal, his on-screen presence stays as commanding as always. The actor had given his best to the role. For a brief period, he even heightened then dampened fans’ hopes with his cameo at the post-credits of Black Adam. Regardless, Cavill is now more or less done with DC and Superman. Unless James Gunn can pull out any tricks up his sleeve, Cavill is now simply the fans’ Superman.
