Meghan Markle’s Words of Wisdom: An Advice for Her Younger Self While Empowering a Hundred Others

The Duke and the Duchess of Sussex, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been out and about for their ever-growing ventures of 2024. The actress-turned-activist Meghan Markle has long been a devoted advocate for children's welfare, supporting organizations like UNICEF and World Vision. Her dedication to empowering young girls and promoting education and equality became all the more evident in her recent Nigerian trip. However, in doing so, she has not forgotten herself. 

Having become one of the most controversial personalities with unwanted global attention and criticism, the Duchess wished she had her younger self prepared for it all. 

Meghan Markle dishes out some advice for her 15-year-old self

During their three-day unofficial visit, in a co-hosted event with Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, director-general of the World Trade Organization, Meghan Markle spoke of the importance of female leadership and empowerment in driving positive change globally. In a panel discussion, the Duchess took on a personal trip and expressed what her younger self ought to know. Sharing a bit of advice to her 15-year-old self, the Duchess said, "You don’t want to put yourself in a position where you’re smaller than you should be”. 

She continued, “Give yourself permission to take up the space that you deserve because you know your worth”. The Duchess further added that the moment that one shrinks, everything around them shrinks. While the self empowering messages added to the success of the event, a thrilling statement made by the Duchess added the silver lining to it all among the Nigerian bigwigs. Meghan Markle went on to thank the panel after some of the most intellectual discussions, in a concluding speech. Markle addressed the nation as “my country" years after her Archetypes reveal, leaving the audience charmed and overwhelmed.

As the dynamic conversation set the tone for an impactful event, one could hardly take their eyes off Meghan Markle's ever-green fashion sense. Being the center of attraction of the event, the Duchess joked about her dressing sense, saying she needed to wear more color so she could fit in with Nigeria's incredible fashion sense.
