According to an insider who spoke to the Daily Mail, Lionel Richie's recent health scare has reportedly reignited concerns among family members, friends, and even his bandmates about whether the singer should finally consider slowing down.
"Family, friends, and even his bandmates are definitely concerned about Lionel's health, but nobody is about to tell him to slow down," the source said. The insider added that Richie has always been driven by his passion for performing and remains focused on getting back on stage as quickly as possible, provided doctors clear him to return.
The source, as reported by DailyMail, also claimed that retirement has never truly been part of the conversation for Richie because music continues to motivate him. According to the insider, the singer is more disappointed that fans did not get the full concert they paid for than he is worried about the health scare itself.
The reported concerns come as Richie works toward returning to the stage following the medical incident that interrupted the opening night of his latest tour.

Following the incident, Live Nation Chicago confirmed that Lionel Richie had been advised by doctors to rest before returning to the Sing A Song All Night Long Tour with 'Earth, Wind & Fire'. As a result, his scheduled performances in Chicago and Columbus were postponed, with the singer currently expected to resume touring on June 30 in Pittsburgh.
The promoter also shared a statement saying Richie was "heartbroken" to postpone the concerts and could not wait to perform for fans again, adding that new dates for the affected shows would be announced soon.
