Laz Alonso already has an idea for where Mother’s Milk’s story could go after The Boys. Following the series finale, the actor recently revealed the kind of spinoff he would love to see for the fan-favorite character, one that continues MM’s complicated connection to Ryan.

For longtime viewers, the reveal comes after Mother’s Milk emerged as one of the few core members of The Boys to make it out alive. By the end of the finale, MM returns home to his family, but not entirely alone, as Ryan — Homelander’s son and the grandson of Soldier Boy — ends up under his care.

And according to Alonso, that ending may have quietly set up a much larger story than fans initially realized.

Laz Alonso already imagines a Mother’s Milk and Ryan future after The Boys

Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter recently, Alonso explained that Mother’s Milk taking Ryan under his wing symbolized “breaking generational curses,” especially given Ryan’s direct connection to Soldier Boy, the same supe responsible for k------MM’s grandfather, mother and uncle, shaping much of his trauma. Alonso said MM’s story was never solely about revenge but about finally rebuilding a life outside that cycle.

“I’m always pitching. So, Amazon, if you’re listening; Kripke, if you’re listening,” Alonso joked, before imagining how an MM-and-Ryan dynamic could evolve in the future.

That ending also sparked Alonso’s imagination for what could happen next. While clarifying that no official conversations have taken place, the actor admitted he already pictures a future in which MM continues to mentor Ryan in much the same way Butcher once recruited Hughie into the fight against Vought.

But while Alonso may already have ideas for Mother’s Milk’s future, he also believes the expanding The Boys universe has an opportunity to revisit the character’s past through Vought Rising.

Why Laz Alonso thinks Vought Rising should revisit Mother’s Milk’s history?

Although Vought Rising is expected to explore Soldier Boy’s earlier years, Alonso believes the prequel could eventually become the perfect place to revisit Mother’s Milk’s family connection to Vought. Because Soldier Boy’s actions directly shaped MM’s trauma, Alonso argued there is already a natural narrative bridge between the two stories.

The actor even floated possible directions, including exploring MM’s family history in Harlem, his father’s legal battle against Vought, or the roots of the character’s long-running connection to Compound V and generational trauma.

"So, it would be interesting to see MM’s mom working in a compound V factory, MM’s dad suing Vought for unsafe work conditions, MM being born with a V addiction, if they decide to show any of that. There was a lot that connected The Boys‘ world to Vought, and that connection was through Soldier Boy and MM," Alonso said.

For Alonso, those pieces could deepen the world of The Boys while also giving fans more of Mother’s Milk’s backstory, especially as the franchise prepares to expand further through its upcoming prequel universe. With The Boys now over, Alonso clearly does not see Mother’s Milk’s story as finished just yet.
