Even though Marvel has already announced the cast of Avengers: Doomsday way back in March 2025, there are always speculations of various other actors in the universe appearing in a cameo or a brief role in the movie. It is all thanks to the MCU’s introduction of the multiverse that any and every crossover is now possible. While rumors throw various names into the pan at regular intervals of time, one name that has always been there is that of Tom Holland.
There have been rumors of Holland’s cameo in Avengers: Doomsday for a long time, but how true these rumors are is a tough nut to crack.

When the 27-member cast list for Avengers: Doomsday was dropped in March 2025, fans noticed that MCU’s wonder boy was missing from that list. But they quickly came up with the theory that Marvel might be planning a surprise cameo of the web-slinger. That is why they have kept Tom Holland’s involvement under wraps.
However, several reports emerged over time negating the claims of Holland’s appearance in the movie. Daniel Richtman (DanielRPK), Jeff Sneider (The Insneider), and Alex Perez from The Cosmic Circus are some of the reputed industry insiders who claimed that Tom Holland’s Spidey might sit out Avengers: Doomsday, emphasizing that he might have a bigger role in Avengers: Secret Wars.

However, a June interview has flipped the narrative on its head. In an interview with Cinemania, Holland hinted that he would be participating in this year's Avengers filming at some point (further filming is now underway for Doomsday, and Secret Wars is scheduled to start filming this autumn), thus confirming the appearance of his Spider-Man.
The interview and what was revealed have caused widespread mania, and it is essential to unpack exactly what was said in the interview.
Tom Holland accidentally gave away the biggest detail for Avengers: Doomsday
While promoting his latest Marvel flick, Spider-Man: Brand New Day, Tom Holland let that tight lid on his involvement in Avengers: Doomsday loosen a bit, giving away a positive indication of Spider-Man’s appearance in the movie. In the interview with Cinemania, he alluded to the fact that he might be on the set of Doomsday soon.
"I have a reputation for spoiling certain things, and I think the studios are keeping me from the juicy details,” stated Holland.
“But when I do get to grace that set, I'm so curious — you know, what does that mean for Peter? And how does that work? I'm very excited about... whatever it is they're doing," he said while talking about the film.

Whether this confirms his cameo in the movie is still too early to say, as he made these comments very indirectly. Even if we do not get to see him in Doomsday, Spider-Man will definitely be in Avengers: Secret Wars, which can be corroborated by the fact that Sadie Sink, who will be making her MCU debut with Brand New Day, is already confirmed for the movie.
