With only a few months left until the release of Spider-Man: Brand New Day, all sorts of rumors are gaining traction, with several big names being linked to the project. While some rumors about the Spider-Man movies are not true, others hold a surprising truth. The same might be the case for Spider-Man: Brand New Day.

One name that is currently making the rounds is Daredevil. He is rumored to appear in the film, and there seem to be multiple clues, from past connections to recent interviews, that strongly suggest the Marvel hero could swing into the fourth Spider-Man movie.

The Spider-Man movies have a long history of introducing exciting crossovers. In Spider-Man: Homecoming, Tony Stark, played by Robert Downey Jr., made an appearance. Later, Spider-Man: No Way Home featured Doctor Strange, played by Benedict Cumberbatch.

The films have also surprised fans with appearances from Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire. So, clearly, the expectations are even higher for the fourth film, Spider-Man: Brand New Day. And to meet the expectations of the fandom, there is a strong possibility of a major crossover, and the surprise character could very well be the much-anticipated Daredevil, potentially teaming up with Spider-Man on screen.

Matt Murdock and Spider-Man already know each other

Another reason that Matt Murdock (Daredevil) could appear in the fourth Spider-Man movie is that he was already introduced in Spider-Man: No Way Home. Murdock, who is a lawyer, defended Peter Parker after Quentin Beck framed Peter for his death. Although the movie ends with everyone forgetting Peter Parker, Daredevil might still recall defending him since Spider-Man is not forgotten by the world.

And that makes it much easier to reintroduce Matt Murdock in the movie.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day is focused on street-level heroes

Spider-Man: Brand New Day is focused on real-world dangers in New York City. With Punisher also set to be part of the story, another superhero that is a good fit to join the movie is Daredevil. Matt Murdock could be the perfect balance between Spider-Man and Punisher.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day will be invaded by The Hands

The Hand is a mysterious and deadly ninja group, well known to comic readers for its history with Daredevil. They have already appeared in past shows on Netflix’s Daredevil and could return in Daredevil: Born Again season 3. While Spider-Man is skilled, he will need all the help to defeat such a powerful group.

That is where Daredevil becomes the perfect ally to help him fight The Hand.

There is a connection between Brand New Day and Daredevil: Born Again

Daredevil: Born Again and Spider-Man: Brand New Day might be connected, as hinted by Marvel Studios’ Head of Streaming, Television, and Animation, Brad Winderbaum. He confirmed that Marvel is ensuring the two stories align without contradictions. That makes a strong case that Daredevil could appear in the fourth Spider-Man movie.

"We are communicating a lot with the team on 'Spider-Man: Brand New Day' to make sure that there's coherence there. We don't want to spoil anything, but it very much exists in the same world, and it is important,” he told Entertainment Weekly.

Is Charlie Cox lying about his involvement in Brand New Day?

Charlie Cox recently appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live to talk about his show, Daredevil: Born Again, Season 2. When asked about his involvement in Brand New Day, he denied it. However, he also had an amusing response.

“If I was in the movie, I would also say, 'No,' to be clear. But I'm not in the movie,” he said.

Now, although quite careful about such details, Cox may have ended up unknowingly revealed something.

Charlie Cox appeared surprised at mention of Spider-man

Charlie Cox has officially denied being part of Spider-Man: Brand New Day, which is common for Marvel actors before a release. However, at New York Comic Con, he appeared slightly flustered when asked about Daredevil’s connection to Spider-Man. The host quickly clarified that he was talking about the animated series where he had lent his voice to the character.

While his reactions may have strengthened speculation about Daredevil in Brand New Day, there is no confirmed update.

Many had speculated that the trailer for Spider-Man: No Way Home had edited out Andrew Garfield and Toby Maguire’s characters in a fight scene to keep it a secret. The same rumors have surrounded Spider-Man: Brand New Day. In one scene (trailer), Spider-Man jumps toward The Hand, but the frame suggests someone else could be edited out since much space is left below him. This has led fans to believe another hero is secretly part of the fight.

While it would be Hulk and Punisher, many believe that chances are the edited character could be a surprise character, such as Daredevil. Now, there are several clues that hint at Daredevil's involvement, but the truth can only be found out when the movie drops on theaters.
