Most of us now know Inde Navarrette as this young breakout star who caused waves in Hollywood with her formidable performance in Curry Barker’s Obsession. However, only a few know of her career trajectory before that. Prior to her praiseworthy horror stint, the only thing worthwhile in her repertoire was Superman & Lois.
But apart from these two titles, projects were few and far between, and in those gaps it became imperative for the actress to pay bills using her other passion - gaming. She used to stream on Twitch, playing games like Call of Duty, Halo, and Red Dead Redemption. Now, channeling her affinity for high-skill multiplayer gameplay, she has teased that she is just a phone call away from doing the Call of Duty movie.

Two days ago, at the Newport Beach Film Festival, Collider spoke to Ray Nicholson (Smile 2) and Inde Navarrette about the upcoming Call of Duty adaptation by Taylor Sheridan and Peter Berg. While Nicholson - who worked with Berg on Mosquito Bowl - shared that it would be an “honor” to work with him again, Navarrette revealed that she is just waiting for their signal.
“It's a phone call. It's a text. If they call me, they're like, 'There's a car outside. You gotta go.' Definitely," she said. "I'm really excited to see what they do. As a fan, I would be excited. I'm a big fan. Very excited," the Obsession star exclaimed.

When Navarrette was seven or eight years old, her older brother played Modern Warfare 2 with her, introducing her to Call of Duty. Navarrette has talked candidly about growing up with the franchise. To be fair, it was actually the Call of Duty community that knew her first; the movie fame came later. It seems like she is still grateful to her days streaming and that is why she told Collider that she will readily accept any offer of the adaptation.
Back in July this year, she joined a panel alongside Activision chief marketing officer Tyler Bahl, NBA star Kevin Durant, and Infinity Ward director Mark Grigsby, celebrating the game’s impact on esports, entertainment, and pop culture. There, she was surprised by a fan with $1000 worth of a sealed 2009 copy of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.
While she has promptly said that she would jump at the opportunity to work on the Call of Duty adaptation, it will not be so easy.
Inde Navarrette’s busy schedule
It is not a big secret now that Inde Navarrette is currently Hollywood’s new hot commodity. So, naturally, she has been receiving offers continuously. Among the confirmed projects she is currently working on are the much-awaited MCU reboot of X-Men, where she will play Rogue, a survival thriller called Invertigo, and Apple TV and Plan B’s The Waffle House Index.

She is also reportedly rejected some high-profile ventures, most prominent of which is Michael Mann’s Heat 2 in favor of the MCU’s X-Men. She allegedly walked away from $2.5 million and a chance to star alongside greats like Leonardo DiCaprio and Christian Bale. In a situation like this, it is tough to imagine how she would take the time to do the Call of Duty movie if the opportunity came along. However, she might figure a way out for something she holds an undying passion for.
