Henry Cavill has played many powerful characters in his career, including a larger-than-life one. Not so long ago, fans saw the British actor portraying one of the most powerful characters, Geralt of Rivia in Netflix’s The Witcher. As the White Wolf, Cavill impressed fans with his brilliant acting skills, along with his dedication to the character. However, the roots of his training were planted way ahead of getting into this beautiful character.

Regardless of the character, one thing that never stayed away from the English star’s life was his journey to being fit. From having a nickname for his unfit physique to becoming the World’s Most Handsome Man, Cavill rated training as a major aspect of his career.

To portray any character, actors need to get the proper physical training. Moreover, they need to have an extra set of skills to justify their role. Therefore, when the Enola Holmes actor starred in the film, Immortals, he had to know how to hold the sword, among other things. During his interview with Collider in 2011, he opened up about his training and revealed how it helped him master the character.

In the 2011 fantasy action film, Cavill portrayed lead the character of Theseus. To be perfect for the role, he began training as well. However, his trainer, Roger Yuan, not only trained him to be physically fit but also in a lot of skills. As the actor himself admitted, Yuan started with the beginners’ circuit training. Additionally, there was training that focused on physical aesthetics. Yuan also taught him the basics of martial arts and boxing.

Cavill also got the knife fighting sessions as it helped him with his sword choreography. All these training sessions turned out pretty helpful while finally filming the scenes. Because they had to delay the filming schedule, the 40-year-old actor got more time to train himself. Giving credits to his trainer, Cavill admitted, “It really helped, it helped an enormous amount.
