However, to the audience’s disappointment, it was not the bombshell that they were expecting to witness. The anticipation around Channel 7’s spotlight special had grown a bit too intense. The crowd had invested high hopes with the counter-exposing interview, which had the controversial Markle exploration through the Duchess’ life. However, the disappointment struck some fans really hard. 

Upon its trailer release, the horsemen of all controversies, Thomas Markle, Thomas Markle Jnr, and Samantha Markle made some stirring remarks aimed at the couple. While the Duchess’ half-sister called out their marriage as toxic, the half-brother commented that the Markles are not going away. Having said so, the family unveiled some unseen pictures and video footage of the Duchess from her childhood. 

The clip, shown on Sunday, exclusively focused on Thomas Markle wanting to set things right with her estranged daughter. The Duchess forgiving him is now his “deathbed plea,” said the father. Although this was not something that fans expected, especially after these threatening warnings, the Markle family does seem to be in a mood for reconciliation. Although, no words of appeasement came from Meghan Markle’s half-sister Samantha Markle. Her brother, too, was far away from any wish to get along with his sister.

A chunk of viewers online apparently watched the stirring interview, however, are of the opinion that these claims do not stand any ground. Some even claimed the interview to “lack credibility“. A couple of other users have labeled the accusations by Markle’s half-sister as “unnecessary”. They do not believe in the public bashing of the mother of two. “Dear Channel 7 the special attacking Meghan Markle is disgusting and unnecessary,“.

A frustrated viewer claimed to be switching off from the nasty family drama. “I’m switching off,” wrote the viewer as reported by various publications. As a whole, the reactions from the netizens have been appalling and indifferent to the Markle family reunion. The bombshell interview which was supposed to throw the Duchess under the bus seems to have backfired.
