Countdown Begins! Buckingham Shares Glances of Coronation Invitations Getting the “Final Touches”

King Charles’ coronation is not long anymore. The live rehearsals for the big day have already begun, and the Kingdom did not seem so elated in ages. Celebrations have been going on up and down throughout the country. Meanwhile, Their Majesties are all looking after the big and small preparations for their lifetime’s ceremony. From attires to rides, to even the special dishes, everything has been finalized for the 6th of May, 2023. Nonetheless, the business with the invitations is still not over.

The official invitation for the Coronation of The King and The Queen Consort has been revealed.
Designed by Andrew Jamieson, the invitation features the Green Man, an ancient figure from British folklore, symbolic of spring and rebirth, to celebrate the new reign.

The royal family took to its official Twitter account to make public the grand coronation invitations for one and for all. However, the same has been classified, keeping in mind the importance of each invitee they send it to. In its latest updates, the palace revealed some glimpses into the special invitations that are yet to be sent out. The images showed the royal calligrapher giving the final touches to the cards with intricate notes.

As reported by People Magazine, the pictures came out Tuesday, giving a hint at who the last invitations are for. The strong guest list of 2000 invitees to the service has each received a personalized invitation. The small yet selected team of professional calligraphers have beautifully hand-finished them all. The report also provided brief information on what are the categories of guests that are all set to grace the occasion in the upcoming month.

Among the guests, there will be over 450 British Empire Gold Medalists who have been invited to a remarkable contribution to the nation. Over 850 “remarkable volunteers, charity representatives, and community champions” will also be honored by the King at the coronation service. The British Empire Gold Medal Recipients Honor is often rendered in local ceremonies.
Around 3,800 military veterans, NHS and social care workers and charity representatives have been invited to watch the #Coronation processions from a special stand outside Buckingham Palace.

Nonetheless, in this instance, many of the winners received their medals during the peak COVID-19 pandemic situation. Hence, their long pending and well-deserved are to be served this time at the King’s service itself.
