Buckingham Palace Posts Never Before Pictures of the Late Queen to Mark Her 97th Birth Anniversary

The United Kingdom might have been all upfront with the forthcoming coronation of King Charles and Queen Camilla. However, it is yet to get over the demise of its former monarch, Queen Elizabeth II. Time and again, the Kingdom has swung back to the days ruled by the Queen to keep the past memories safe. Today, as the nation looks forward to the upcoming historic occasion, the Palace has been reminiscing about the late Queen with some of her unseen photographs. It earlier posted Her Majesty’s picture along with the younger generation of the royals.

The picture dates back to last year in Edinburgh, where the Queen appeared for the first time post her Platinum Jubilee. As reported, she was present in Scotland to attend the ceremony of keys at the Palace of Holyroodhouse. The palace is the British monarch’s official residence in Scotland’s capital city.

Nonetheless, giving a brief description of her reign and how she ascended the throne, the official Instagram account of the royal family posted a new picture of the former monarch. The caption gave a detailed report on how the abdication of King Edward VIII paved the way for the Queen to ascend to the British throne. As King Edward VIII denounced the seat owing to the controversies surrounding his wife, his brother George VI took the helm.

Palace members pay tribute to the Late Queen Elizabeth II

Ever since he was the rightful successor to the throne, followed by his juvenile daughter, our very own, Princess Elizabeth II. Merely at an age of 25, she was vested with the responsibilities of the entire nation. Nonetheless, her selfless service and dedication to the monarchy made her one of the most successful and longest-reigning monarchs in imperial history. More so, she was the only one in the legacy to have celebrated a platinum Jubilee.

Paying tribute to their beloved, members of the royal family took to their social media pages to commemorate her 97th. Along with Kensington and Clarence House, the estranged Duchess of York, Sarah Ferguson also penned a heartfelt message to the Queen. “For over 70 years she was a constant and steadfast presence in our national life,” wrote the Queen’s daughter-in-law. The Prince and Princess of Wales also shared a picture of the Queen sitting with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
