Brendan Fraser still receives residual checks for one of his older films — they just happen to be worth 13 cents. During a recent podcast appearance, the Oscar winner revealed that a forgotten movie called Glory Daze, featuring a young Ben Affleck, continues to send him tiny payments decades after its release.

For longtime fans of Fraser, the revelation arrived with exactly the kind of self-aware humor that has made the actor’s recent comeback feel especially endearing. While the actor has spent the last few years returning to major Hollywood projects, one of his earliest films still quietly finds its way back to his mailbox in the smallest possible way.

And, fittingly enough, Fraser himself seemed far more amused by the story than bothered by it.

Brendan Fraser reveals his tiniest residual check still comes from Glory Daze

Brendan Fraser shared the story while appearing on the Fly on the Wall with Dana Carvey and David Spade podcast, when the conversation shifted toward residual checks or what comedians often jokingly call “mailbox money.” Dana Carvey originally asked Fraser which project still sends him the biggest residual payments, but the actor quickly turned the question around in a way that caught the hosts off guard.

Rather than talking about his most profitable payday, Fraser suggested that the more entertaining story might actually be the opposite. That is when the actor brought up Glory Daze, the 1995 indie comedy featuring a young Ben Affleck early in his career, alongside a surprisingly stacked cast that included Matthew McConaughey, Sam Rockwell, Matt Damon, and Fraser himself.

“My tiniest residual check… I still got one the other day from a film called Glory Daze that Ben Affleck was in... I still get like, you know, a 13-cent check,” Fraser said on the podcast.

Reflecting on his brief appearance in the film, Fraser jokingly admitted that his role mostly involved riding a bus for a day and exchanging a few lines with another character.

“The least is more interesting, isn’t it?” he joked, before adding, “What’s the tiniest?” — a response that immediately got laughs from the hosts and shifted the conversation into nostalgic territory.

The moment quickly turned playful as the hosts joked about tiny residual payments actors continue receiving years after projects wrap.

While Glory Daze may still quietly send Fraser pocket change, the actor’s Hollywood story looks very different these days, especially with Fraser recently preparing to return to The Mummy franchise more than two decades later.

The anecdote lands at an interesting moment in Brendan Fraser’s career, with the actor recently confirming that he is returning to one of his most beloved franchises. After years of fan demand, Fraser is officially stepping back into the role of Rick O’Connell for Universal’s fourth The Mummy film, reuniting with Rachel Weisz more than two decades after the original movies helped define blockbuster adventure cinema.

Speaking recently on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Fraser admitted he is already preparing for the physically demanding return while trying to get back into shape for the role.

“Mummies are fun. That’s just kind of cool, right? I’m looking forward to this,” Fraser said, while joking about getting his “57-year-old gear” ready again.
