Adam Sandler believes he lost out on a Friends part next to Jennifer Aniston because of this thing of David Schwimmer's that he can't beat.

Adam Sandler “wanted to be Ross” on ‘Friends’? Jennifer Aniston’s ‘Murder Mystery’ Co-star Once Said This

Although Jennifer Aniston is most known for the famed 90s sitcom Friends, the
actress’ films are just as noteworthy. She began her big-screen career with her
childhood friend and maestro of goofball charm, Adam Sandler. From the moment
they met in their teens, the duo formed a bond that continued on their journeys
through Tinseltown. Whether they are cracking jokes on screen or sharing laughs
offscreen at awards shows, their friendship is almost like a real-life rom-com.

This cinematic match made in quirky heaven is shipped so often that even Ross
might get jealous. But it turns out that in Sandler’s case, it is in fact the
other way around.

WHEN SANDLER REVEALED WHY DAVID SCHWIMMER GOT ROSS INSTEAD OF HIM

In a chat with Jake Hamilton during the promos of Murder Mystery 2 back in
April, the host asked the duo which project they wished they could have done
together. To this, the 56-year-old jokingly remarked that he “could have
handled” being the monkey on Friends. Later he clarified that he “wanted to be
Ross” but Schwimmer got the part because he was “nicer and taller.”

To this confession, Aniston sarcastically added, “just a tad bit taller.”
Considering all the sweet gestures Sandler makes
[https://www.netflixjunkie.com/hollywood-news-jennifer-aniston-reveals-how-longtime-bestfriend-adam-sandler-and-his-wife-send-her-special-treatment-on-mothers-day/]
for her, this comment may have seemed rather cruel to some. But this incident is
one of the many silly banter moments these two have shared together.
Additionally, Sandler also clarified in a later interview that he was only
joking about these comments.

Despite being in many movies together, the Hustler actor’s wish to play Ross
further adds to a long-standing mystery. After all, him even jokingly saying
that he wanted to play Aniston’s romantic partner in Friends was bound to raise
some questions.

HOW CLOSE ARE JENNIFER ANISTON AND ADAM SANDLER?

Besides being long-time friends, the Murder Mystery co-stars share a lot of
screen time with each other. But it is their off-screen life that interests fans
instead, considering how often they have been paired together

Obviously, Aniston is just a friend of Sandler’s who has been married for two
decades now. Yet their constant jabs at each other keep reviving these
speculations.

These rumors are only made stronger by the fact that the duo have special
nicknames for each other. Not to forget the fact that the Grown Ups star once
jokingly wanted to replace Schwimmer on Friends who Aniston once had a crush on.
