Luffy from One Piece is about to receive a major upgrade. A fan imagines the moment he gears up in a uniquely animated clip.

This ‘One Piece’ Fan Made Animation Will Leave 90s Kids Feeling Nostalgic

The One Piece anime based on Eiichiro Oda’s manga unfurls a heartwarming saga
that tugs at fans’ heartstrings. With its crew full of misfits and Luffy’s
infectious enthusiasm, the tale has weaved into a testament to camaraderie.
Amidst the sea of quirky chaos, One Piece sails strong, reminding its fans that
the greatest treasures are the connections one makes along the way. This aspect
of the show makes it all the more endearing to its loyal fanbase. A fanbase that
can never get enough of the epic manga, no matter how endlessly its plot
stretches.

One such fan recently took a special moment from an upcoming episode of the
anime and turned it into a unique masterpiece. And for those that grew up
watching the iconic Cartoon Network, his art is going to stir up some nostalgia.

LUFFY POWERS UP TO ACHIEVE GEAR 5

As the promo of episode 1072 depicts, Luffy is about to achieve a Gear 5
transformation that will help him defeat Kaido. Reimagining it as an episode of
the beloved Tom & Jerry cartoon, YouTube creator XLerate took the upcoming
moment to a new level. The 28-second-long clip is reminiscent of the quirky
style of animation, which was unique to the 90s. This upcoming transformation
seen in the clip will mark a major upgrade to Luff’y powers in many ways.

With the Tom & Jerry soundtrack playing in the background, the clip is almost a
surreal portal to another dimension. A dimension where One Piece is made in the
iconic Cartoon Network style, making Luffy’s stretchy legs even more comical
than they already are.

The clip comes as a respite to the anime’s fans considering the recent
heartbreak they received at the hands of Netflix recently.

THE ONE PIECE POSTER THAT ENRAGED FANS

The upcoming live adaptation of the anime on Netflix has already received
backlash before even launching. Because when the OTT mogul unveiled one of its
promotional posters, it was deemed “cheap” among other negative comments

It featured Iñaki Godoy and other cast members in a rather unflattering
rendition.

This misstep from Netflix caused many fans to say that they might not watch the
live-action adaptation after all. No wonder fans of the show like XLerate took
matters into their own hands.
