Christopher Nolan’s daring narrative of J. Robert Oppenheimer, the renowned theoretical physicist and the mastermind behind the atomic bomb, has been considered the top contender for the prestigious Oscar accolade throughout the award season. And fulfilling everyone’s expectations, tonight, the director walked away with his first Oscar. But this should not come as a shock to either the fans or the director.

And that is precisely why Oppenheimer was such an important contribution to cinema this year. It could potentially inspire more films of its kind in the future, where even big, high-budget artistic expressions will have the ability to resonate with the masses.
