The 98th Academy Awards party features an extravagant menu, which celebrity chef Wolfgang Puck has designed with his culinary team, in keeping with tradition. According to Variety, the menu combines popular comfort foods with high-end restaurant recipes. Guests will enjoy Puck’s famous chicken pot pies and Oscar-shaped smoked salmon crackers, along with gourmet dishes such as tomahawk, steak, savory cannolis, sushi, and macaroni and cheese.

This year's specials include sushi and salmon handrolls, nigiri, and crispy rice cakes prepared by five chefs. For dessert, the stars will enjoy an apple strudel from Puck's own mother's recipe. There will also be a made-to-order dessert action station featuring the showstoppers: sorbet, takoyaki, ice cream, and gelato.

The menu offers high-end ingredients like black truffles, wagyu beef, and fresh seafood, which create bites that achieve Oscar-worthy status for Hollywood's greatest event. Guests will find a dessert display that contains chocolate desserts, macarons, and sweets designed to resemble miniature Oscar statuettes. The drink selection matches the food selection in terms of quality.

Signature cocktails such as Best in Show, the Golden Cut Margarita, the Maestro Martini, and The Sequel, made with Tequila Don Julio, will be served alongside champagne and premium wines throughout the night.

The Oscars feast provides an ideal grand finale, which stars use to conclude the most glamorous night in cinema, orchestrated by Puck since 1994. But for decades even the smallest plates have needed the utmost care and meticulous planning.

The event requires a major food operation, which includes preparations of 1200 chicken pot pies, 70 pounds of caviar, and 200 pounds of steak for the special night. Awards anxieties will be washed down by gallons of tequila, sake, and champagne at the Governors Ball. Wolfgang Puck revealed in a Press Release that they make 25,000 small plates during the event.

This marks the 32nd year of Puck serving delicacies at the Oscars. Sharing an anecdote about catering to all kinds of artists' tastes and food preferences, Puck reminisced about a moment with Joaquin Phoenix at the 2020 Oscars.

“We took Joaquin and his whole team into the kitchen, but then he tells me, 'We are vegans.' I said, ‘You know what, we have you covered.’ So we fed them all of our vegan dishes, and he said, ‘This is the best vegan restaurant in the world.’ We are very proud of that," Puck shared with Variety.

With 30 years of history on his plate, Puck not only caters to the culinary excellence of the award show but also becomes the architect of food history in Hollywood.
