Corey Feldman Heartbroken After Being Sidelined From Rob Reiner’s Special Honors at the Oscars
Rob Reiner’s tragic death last year has left a deep void in the hearts of his fans. The director was a beloved figure in the entertainment industry, and his legacy extends far beyond filmmaking and acting. This Is Spinal Tap (1984), Stand By Me (1986), The Princess Bride (1987), and When Harry Met Sally…(1989) are just a few among the long list of classics he has blessed us with. To honor his significant contribution to cinema, the Academy is preparing to pay him a tribute at the 2026 Oscars on March 15.
But someone with a deep connection to him, one that had stood by him like any other, Corey Feldman, is upset over not being involved in the ceremony and has publicly expressed his feelings.

Corey Feldman, who played Teddy Duchamp in Rob Reiner's Stand by Me, is perturbed, but not mulling over, not being included in an Academy Awards tribute to the director, as per his claims on X. Wil, Wheaton and Jerry O'Connell, two of Feldman's co-stars from the movie, are anticipated to attend the homage, but Feldman has reportedly not received an invitation.
Actors Meg Ryan and Billy Crystal, who starred in Reiner's iconic romantic comedy When Harry Met Sally, are also anticipated to participate, according to some sources. With an absence at Reiner's tribute, Feldman will also be missing the Stand by Me reunion scheduled for the movie's 40th anniversary tour.
Given his significant role in the cherished coming-of-age classic Stand by Me, Feldman's exclusion from the Oscars homage is perceived as a snub. However, despite the exclusion and expressing hurt of a certain degree via his X post, Feldman directed his fans to take down any petitions that were pushing for his inclusion, and instead asked them to focus on far more pressing matters.
Rob Reiner’s death, on the other hand was a disturbing event for his fans, especially considering how he died.
A tragic end for a Hollywood legend
On December 14, Rob Reiner, along with his wife Michele Singer Reiner were discovered fatally stabbed in their California home. Nick Reiner, their 32-year-old son, has been charged in relation to their deaths. The Reiners allegedly went to a holiday party at Conan O'Brien's house before they were killed, and it is alleged that Rob got into a fight with his son.
Nick Riener, who has a history of mental illness and substance addiction, was caught and taken into custody by police hours after the Reiners were discovered dead in their house. He is right now facing trial for murder charges after pleading not guilty. The investigation is underway, and Nick Riener might be convicted if no new evidence surfaces.
