This year’s Oscar race has been monumental because of two films: Sinners and One Battle After Another. Ryan Coogler’s horror-drama shattered all the records and received 16 nominations, becoming the most-nominated film in the history of the Academy Awards. Meanwhile, Paul Thomas Anderson’s black comedy followed closely with 13 noms.

Both films will battle it out in almost all the major categories, including Best Picture and Best Director.

In the acting categories, the competition is just as vicious. Michael B. Jordan (Sinners) has emerged as the frontrunner after the surprising victory at the Actor Awards. But performers such as Timothée Chalamet (Marty Supreme), Leonardo DiCaprio (One Battle After Another), and Wagner Moura (The Secret Agent) are giving him a tough fight in a category that clearly has no clear winner.

On the Best Actress side, Jessie Buckley (Hamlet) is poised to win the trophy. The way she has dominated the awards season with multiple victories, it seems it is her time to become the first Irish woman to win Best Actress at the Oscars.

Other categories, such as International Feature Film, Supporting Actor, and Actress, will also be fiercely competitive, making the race just as exciting and unpredictable.

Conan O’Brien is returning to host the 98th Oscars on March 15, 2026. To ensure you do not miss a moment, stay tuned to Netflix Junkie for the announcement of the winners, as we will be updating winners LIVE.
