According to a report by PEOPLE, the 98th Academy Awards is preparing for a special The Devil Wears Prada moment inspired directly from its upcoming sequel. As Anne Hathaway is already locked in as a presenter at the event, her involvement in the special segment is highly probable. It is still unknown whether the rest of the cast will join her.

Meanwhile, a new teaser of The Devil Wears Prada 2 has just been dropped ahead of the announcement of its Oscar appearance. As seen in the teaser, Meryl Streep returns as Editor-in-Chief Miranda Priestly and can be seen talking to Andy Sachs, played by Anne Hathaway. With Madonna's song ‘Vogue’ playing in the background, they are seen getting ready for a new challenge.

The original The Devil Wears Prada movie, which was released in 2006, was based on Lauren Weisberger's novel of the same name. The film follows Andy (Hathaway), who gets employed as a co-assistant to Streep's character Miranda, the editor-in-chief of the fictional fashion magazine Runway. The original film chronicles her quest to blend in with the rest of the fashion world. On the other hand, the new The Devil Wears Prada 2 teaser shows Anne Hathaway’s character with a totally different confidence and outlook.

Circling back to the 2026 Oscars, the producers of the show have also announced many more special reunions and acts for the night. 

At a press conference on March 11, Oscars’ executive producers Raj Kapoor and Katy Mullan revealed that there are more reunions lined up for the 98th Academy Awards. They confirmed that the rumors about the Bridesmaids cast reunion were in fact true, and fans will get to see them at the awards night. 

A Marvel reunion was also announced, with superstars and superheroes from the beloved franchise gracing the Oscars stage. Additionally, they hinted at something extraterrestrial being present on the stage, so that takes the level of curiosity to atmospheric heights. All in all, a great night for cinema fans and the absolute best for showmanship.
