Oscars 2026 Announces 'Sinners'-Inspired Performance Lineup for Hollywood’s Biggest Night

A legendary night of cinema is about to collide with global pop culture as the Academy reveals its most ambitious performance slate yet. The 98th Oscars lineup is officially set, featuring show-stopping performances from the year's most impactful films. According to the Academy's press release, showrunners Raj Kapoor and Katy Mullan announced that the event will center on Sinners, the most nominated film in history, and the global sensation KPop Demon Hunters.
Hosted by Conan O’Brien, the ceremony will air live on ABC and stream on Hulu this Sunday, March 15, 2026. EJAE, AUDREY NUNA, and REI AMI, the voices behind KPop Demon Hunters, will perform their Oscar-nominated song 'Golden'.
On the other hand, Miles Caton, Raphael Saadiq, along with Misty Copeland, Eric Gales, Buddy Guy, Brittany Howard, Christone “Kingfish” Ingram, Jayme Lawson, Li Jun Li, Bobby Rush, Shaboozey, and Alice Smith will take the stage to perform the Oscar-nominated 'I Lied to You'. Fans can catch the red-carpet festivities starting at 6:30 p.m. ET, leading directly into the main awards presentation.

Sinners has officially received sixteen Academy Award nominations, which include major recognition for Best Picture, Best Director, and a first-time Best Actor nod for Michael B. Jordan. The film also secured spots for Best Original Screenplay, Best Cinematography, and the inaugural Best Casting award.
The Netflix breakout hit KPop Demon Hunters has carved its own historic path with two significant nominations that highlight the growing influence of Korean-inspired content. It is contending for Best Animated Feature and has made history with 'Golden', the first K-pop track ever nominated for Best Original Song. This year’s ceremony promises to transform the stage into a cinematic tribute that bridges the gap between historic dramas and modern animation.
While the performances are locked, the statistical battle for the night's biggest trophies remains incredibly tight.
Historical data suggests a complex night for the leading nominee
The film Sinners has already secured its place in the history books by earning a record-smashing sixteen Academy Award nominations. This tally surpasses any previous cinematic achievement, yet historical data suggests that leading the pack does not always guarantee a Best Picture victory.
The Hollywood Reporter's statistical models indicate that approximately 44% of films with the most nominations in a given year fail to win the top prize. The competition is particularly fierce due to the dominating run of One Battle After Another throughout the preceding awards season.

The category for Best Original Song is currently viewed as a showdown between a global pop anthem and a soulful cinematic ballad. ‘Golden’ has benefited from the massive popularity of its source film, following a successful blueprint established by previous Oscar-winning hits. However, the popularity of the film Sinners with the voting body provides a significant boost to its own musical entry, 'I Lied to You'.
