Since the announcement of a second season, there has been much anticipation around the details of the instalment and its development.

About the filming update of Heated Rivalry season 2, the production is still scheduled to begin in August 2026, according to creator Jacob Tierney's confirmation earlier this month. The showrunner disclosed that he spends his days crafting the scripts for the second season in a room, which is good news for fans. The makers intend to release the second season somewhere around April 2027. 

The Long Game, Rachel Reid's sixth Game Changers book, is anticipated to serve as the source material for Season 2 of Heated Rivalry. In The Long Game, which takes place over ten years later, Shane Hollander and Ilya Rozanov are still trying to protect their relationship while considering the dangers of going public and the implications for both their personal and professional life. And if Hudson Williams’ hints mean anything, it is going to be unapologetically raunchy.
