<p>We are three months into the new year after a disastrous 2020 in which there were 25 originals cancelled. Here are the shows <strong>Netflix</strong> has cancelled in 2021 so far.</p>
<p>The pandemic was a huge burden for <strong>Netflix</strong> in 2020. That&#8217;s because it had to cancel many productions alongside delaying many others. We could be watching the new installments of many huge productions like <strong>Stranger</strong> <strong>Things</strong> right now if it wasn&#8217;t for the pandemic. However, it affected the filming processes of some shows and completely cancelled 25 <a href="https://netflixjunkie.com/category/originals/">Netflix originals</a> in 2020.</p>
<p>As we are three months into 2021, the situation does not seem that bad. There are still some cancelled shows, though.</p>
<h3>Netflix shows cancelled in 2021</h3>
<p>All those three cancellations, or finales, if you will, are pretty recent. We have an anime series, a historical drama, and a sitcom.</p>
<h4>The Duchess</h4>
<p><strong>The Duchess</strong> is a comedy series by <strong>Netflix</strong> that debuted in September 2020. Starring <strong>Katherine Ryan,</strong> it&#8217;s about a single mom trying to raise his daughter.</p>
<p>The star has revealed in a recent <a href="https://netflixjunkie.com/netflix-cancels-comedy-series-the-duchess-for-second-season/">interview</a> that <strong>Netflix</strong> was not planning on making a second season for the series. It could not get enough viewers. There is currently one, probably the only, season of <strong>The Duchess</strong> on <strong>Netflix</strong> right now.</p>

<h4>Castlevania</h4>
<p><a href="https://netflixjunkie.com/castlevania-season-4-official-trailer-dropped-with-release-date/"><strong>Castlevania</strong></a> is an anime adapted from the video game series of the same name. It was first released on <strong>Netflix</strong> in 2017.</p>
<p>The anime is drawing to an end with its fourth season. <strong>Netflix</strong> is going to release the last season of <strong>Castlevania</strong> on May 13th. Here&#8217;s the official trailer for it.</p>

<h4>The Last Kingdom</h4>
<p><a href="https://netflixjunkie.com/the-last-kingdom-season-5-is-going-to-be-the-finale/"><strong>The Last Kingdom</strong></a> is a historical drama that debuted in 2015. It is adapted from <strong>Bernard</strong> <strong>Cornwell&#8217;s</strong> novels.</p>
<p>Just like <strong>Castlevania</strong>, <strong>The Last</strong> <strong>Kingdom</strong> is going to give us one last season before going for good. They are currently filming the fifth season of the series. The release date is probably going to be around early 2022. However, there is no official announcement on that yet.</p>
